POC Zen Group
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Description: GBZC member Leilani Diaz invites persons of color (POCs) to join her in this new, monthly sitting group. This is an opportunity to cultivate a diverse community rooted in inclusivity, justice, and compassion; it is also a chance to open our hearts and eyes to Zen Buddhism's history in the West - one largely shaped and continued by white and male persons. This group is meant to be both (a) an entry point for POCs new to Zen and (b) an exploratory practice for POCs familiar with Zen. This is a Zen Buddhist service that will include chanting, seated meditation, and walking meditation, followed by informal discussion over tea and cookies. No RSVP required. Contact [email protected] with questions.

Held the third Monday each month, 7-8:30pm
