Samu or Caretaking Practice

Samu is physical work that is done with the same intention we use in zazen. Every quarter the Facilities Working group organizes an afternoon of cleaning and care for GBZC in Cambridge’s physical space. We do general cleaning and perhaps some small projects such as hanging art.

We care for physical space as a part of our spiritual practice.

All are welcome to join. It’s a good opportunity to connect with your fellow sangha-mates, and family and friends are welcome.

There are many ways to support the sangha, and taking care of the zendo is a valuable way to do that.  It’s been an important part of his practice for many years.
